Camp 5The original location of Camp 5 was at Nanning (22-48 108-18), the present site of the camp. When the Japs took Nanning in November, 1944, it was necessary for the camp to evacuate to Poseh (23-55 106-34) where the camp remained until the latter part of June, 1945, when it returned to Nanning after that city had been liberated from the Japs. The function of Camp 5 was the training of and operating with Chinese of the 3rd Column of the Chinese Commando Army. Of the Chinese in this Column, 1,067 have been trained at Camp 5.
