Tung Ting Lake Unit
(Camp 12)
On July 1, final approval was given by both the Chinese and American sides for the establishment of the Tung Ting Lake Unit (Camp 12) in the vicinity of Changteh (29-02 111-32).
This camp was established to train Chinese in amphibious warfare and guerilla tactics. Upon their graduation, the Chinese personnel operated with Americans against Jap traffic along the Hsiang River, the Yangtze River, and Tung Ting and Poyang Lakes. The camp was supplemented by 48 Chinese who were previously trained in amphibious warfare by Camp 2.
