Yangtze Raiders

The Yangtze Raiders, also called the River Unit, was located southwest of Hsiu Shui (29-02 114-33). The function of this unit was the training of Chinese in guerrilla warfare and intelligence reporting.  

Operations extended from the Kan River near Changsha, through Tung Ting Lake past Yoyang and down the Yangtze River to Hankow then down river to Kuikiang and into Poyang Lake.  Covering approximately 24,500 square miles, it cut through the enemy’s link between southernmost China Proper and Manchuria.
